You're Welcome

You're welcome. No need to leave me thank you's but if you feel you must, know that you are welcome!

I do not give, favorite, or watch for pats on the back. The reward of giving isn't in the recognition but in the smile it inspires and the knowledge that it was the right thing to do. Steal opportunities to pay it forward and do your part to make the world a better place.

Mysterious BoxDisgustingly, wretchedly, appalling!
Why on earth does that dog keep bawling?!
I've put water in his bowl and food in his tray,
but still I can't get his barking to go away!
Pacing, pacing, two and fro!
What he's chasing I can't pretend to know!
A knock, a pat, a tip and a tatter?
Some ones at the door, that must be whats the matter.
My feet in my slippers and a shirt on my chest...
Oh I better get some pants, I think that'd be best.
A thudding of my cane and a shuffling of my feet,
I opened the door and what did I meet?
The wind whistled passed, and I swore dust bowl did too!
A dust bowl in the suburbs? Who knew!
I looked back and fourth, I looked to my right
I might have looked left, but nothing was in sight!
That's when I heard it, a howl and a yelp!
I turned to my dog who was in desperate need of help!
A box of mystery and danger was on the attack!
I spent way too much money not to get that mutt back.
The cardboard had lodged on his head like a hat,
and that's when
Character Brain Storming pt 1I'm going to attempt to write a story, but not just of my own accord. I often get bored of writing stories because I, the author, are no longer entertained when I get to plot everything out. I prefer role playing on internet mediums because the other interaction gives room for surprise. So, I'm going to write a story that is shaped off of the comments and critiques I get. Starting with the brainstorming.

Evil or Good?

When writing a character we're constantly asked what their alignment is, by the reader, the other characters and thus by ourselves. We thrive off of the concept that there is a clear black and white, that the definition will help us say, "Okay this is good, and this is evil." We're so relieved by that obvious line that we all assume ourselves to be good. Very rarely will you find someone who will say they are evil, and most of the time that is done in a manic depressive state. Rambling aside... The concept of evil in scary movies is oft

These were made to support the :icongrouple-zero: group project. If you have a group that fits one of these categories, go to the grouple and request it be added.

A Discussion About Points

Tue Apr 16, 2013, 6:57 AM
With the introduction of points members of the community have been able to pay money directly to deviantArt, an established company, in exchange for currency to use on the website. They're also able to do commissions for these points, request donations, and buy tangible items from the store. While I understand the act of purchasing points is a big money maker for deviantArt, I was wondering to what extent they could offer free points in exchange for community participation.

For instance, giving a critique could earn you 5 - 10 points per critique with an earning potential of 50 points a week. You could continue to critique after that if you wished but you would no longer be rewarded points for doing so. Keep in mind, there would have to be a word limit on the critique before you'd be eligible for the points. Yes, this could be abused by ranting critiques over nothing, but this could be circumvented by requiring that the critique be accepted by the artist before the points are given.

This could apply to other things to, not just critiques. You could earn points for participating in other community type activities with the over all earning limit being 50 points a week. This would allow members to gradually earn points while not bankrupting deviantArt.

So now for the comments. Is this a good enough idea for me to write up and post in the proper section, and if so what would you tweak about the idea? Credit will be given if there is any formal write up.

Questions to get you going:
What could earn you points?
How many points would each activity earn?
How many points should you be allowed to earn a week?
While in theory this shouldn't bankrupt deviantArt, what potential conflicts do you see occurring?
How could we correct said conflicts?
